Sustainable for our future



On our initiative, Lahnau became a climate municipality for the state of Hesse. In doing so, we have initiated many measures that will advance the change to a climate-friendly municipality. Over the last five years, we have campaigned for better cycle paths, a ban on gravel gardens and the promotion of climate-friendly small measures. To this end, we work closely with the Lahnau Energy and Climate Protection Advisory Board.

We focus on active nature conservation through sensible measures. Funded by the EU project “Living Lahn”, a number of renaturation measures have been carried out in recent years, the success of which can be measured by the diversity of the animal world. At our request, a long-distance hiking trail for wild animals along the motorway remains open - a helpful measure to protect the populations.

We stand for controlled and managed tourism on and off the Lahn. Through practical measures such as B. the renovation of the boat dock in Dorlar or dog toilets (collection containers and waste bag dispensers), we want to keep our region attractive and avoid conflicts.
